Mākaha Valley Flood Study

Completed 2014

Townscape worked with the State Department of Land and Natural Resources Engineering Department to conduct a flood study for Mākaha Valley. The study included stakeholder consultations with community members, businesses, land owners, state and city agencies, and elected officials. Townscape planners also facilitated a series of focus groups and larger community meetings.

Hydrological and hydraulic modeling were used to calculate flood flows and conduct analyses to identify strategies and projects that are aimed to reduce flooding of homes and businesses in the valley.
