CURRENT POSITION

 

Planner at TOWNSCAPE, INC., since 2007.  Mr. Choy is involved in meetings, coordination, computerized graphics, research, and report writing.  Computer applications include ArcView, AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel, and Access.

PRIOR PROFESSIONAL POSITIONS AND EXPERIENCE

 

University of Hawaii at Manoa, Department of Urban Regional Planning, Honolulu, Hawaii, 2006-2007.  Research Assistant for Waianae Digital Media Hälau Program Evaluation Project.  Coordinate research activities for evaluation of community‑based learning project in Waianae, conduct site interviews with various program staff members and service recipients, assist with data analysis, and preparation of reports and other publications.

 

SSFM International, Inc., Honolulu, Hawaii, 2006.  Planning Intern.  Assisted in the preparation and processing of environmental assessments.  Composed and prepared correspondences to government officials and other various stakeholders.

 

Office of Representative Roy Takumi Hawaii State Legislature, Legislative Aide. 2005.  Addressed constituent and community concerns on behalf of the Representative, drafted written correspondences for the Representative, organized and maintained spreadsheet that tracked legislation important to the Representative, researched the background of bills and issues as needed.

 

Oregon Department of Education, Assistant to the Chief of Staff, 2003-2004.  Plan and coordinate one-day, 200‑person, state-wide conference; coordinate and market the department’s internship program; recruit, supervise, and review work of interns; assemble and distribute Superintendent’s weekly newsletter; organize and create the agenda for quarterly community advisory team meetings.

 

Oregon Progress Board, Intern, 2003.  Prepare reports for the Oregon Legislature, including biennial “Benchmark Report” and various long‑term planning goals for the State of Oregon.
